  1. Pete O. says:

My heart aches for Sarah, her family and loved ones for such a tragic loss.
    Wishing you God’s Blessings.
    Rest easy Sarah.

  2. Ron Wagner says:

Although I did not know Sarah personally, I have had the experience of my wife of 24 years died last month of cancer. There has been much grief for me to bear while I go on with my life. While I do not wish to promote a spiritual point of view here, as a practitioner of mystic meditation I found these words of Maharishi’s on death and grief to be insightful.

“When someone dies, it is because at that point, their karma has become insurmountable in the present body. It is not possible to understand why death had to come when it did, and there is certainly no point in assuming responsibility and guilt. The course of action was unfathomable. However, especially for someone on the path of speedy evolution of soul (meditation, spiritual practice etc.), the transition is purely evolutionary. They go to the celestial realms, or are reborn almost immediately. When life leaves the body, it is the breath leaving, like transcending. For one who has been accustomed to this experience for many years, the transition is easy, painless and blissful, not catastrophic. Dropping the body is like letting a bird out of its cage. Grief is natural. At first when grief is deep and sharp, these emotions of the family and friends allow the soul to feel that they were loved very deeply. It is also natural that the grieving should taper off, allowing the soul to feel that their passing was not a drag on the life of their beloved ones, and that they are free to move onto their destiny. It is important to feel positivity and support for the departed souls wherever they be, because our attitude affects their evolution.”

  3. Zita says:

The night she died, we (me and my daugther) saw Worlds Away – the movie. And after we talked about the amazing (and dangerous) performance the artists show uw, day in, day out, and we remembered the show we saw two years ago. The next day I heard about the accident and I realized even more than the day before, that the artists are humans, who have a life outside their work, family, friends, partner, children… And all of them have to learn to live without this beautiful woman, who lives in their memory! I wish them all the best in their lifes! And for Sarah: rest in piece

  4. Ombra says:

I didn’t know her, but as a CDS fan I really felt sad with the news. Just sending virtual hugs to her family and friends.

  5. KarenD says:

I saw Ka for the first time the night before this horrible tragedy and heard the news on my way to see O. My heart goes out to Sarah’s partner and children and all the members of the Cirque family. May you find peace and healing.

  6. David says:

    Sasoun

    The Circus will go on
    Forever dimmer with you gone
But your art transcends your death

No way to reason the rune
Why the piper called the tune
    We accept we’ll never know

Small by small you made big waves
On gilded roads that hard work paves
You achieved so much so soon

    Your grand-mere Micheline
Gave you strength to live your dream
    You lived your dream Sasoun

We’ll keep you behind our head
In our minds, that goes unsaid
    You will never be forgotten

You liked that ash could be a tree
To breathe again in living green
You are a beautiful and sheltering tree

    There’s so much left unsaid
But less is more and more is less
    We voice our silent love

    Devoted to art and child
You shone, you taught, you smiled
    Good job Sasoun!

Sarah, you shared your passion with all our precious children and we are forever grateful and will cherish the memories of all the little performances you made for us. I pray that your children will find their own passion in life like you and follow their dreams as you did.
You will always be loved and never forgotten~

  9. Andrew Welch says:

I never knew Sarah, never got to see an actual production of Ka – every time I was in Vegas I was too busy with NASCAR – however, I recently lost my mother-in-law. I posted this for her, but it seems strangely appropriate here:

    Perhaps they are not stars,
    but openings in heaven
where the love of our lost ones
    pours through and shines down
upon us to let us know they are happy.

    – Eskimo saying

  10. Janne Pehkonen says:

It is often said that something may survive of a person after his death if that person was an artist and put a little of himself into his work. It is perhaps in the same way that a sort of cutting taken from one person and grafted onto the heart of another continues to carry on its existence even when the person from whom it had been detached has perished. I will never forget you, Sarah!

  11. Cindy says:

I saw KA this past April and was amazing at the talent of all the performers. She had an amazing gift and it’s a horrible tragedy. She will be missed.

I saw KA in 2009 and thought it was brilliant…thank you, Sassoun, for all your performances. I would have liked to have known you and been a friend. In all that I have read…you were a wonderful person. I am sure your babies have your strength and there is much love for them. Fly with the angels, Sarah and know that you touched many lives with positive energy and this part of your journey on earth was well done.

  17. Irina says:

  18. Carlos Martinelli says:

I watched you in 2011 and that was an unforgetable night. Thank you so much… and I´d like to send our prayers and thoughts from Brazil.

  20. Taboureau says:

  22. Amy says:

About a month has now passed since this horrific accident and although I did not know Sarah and never have seen a Cirque production, I have had this family on heart as their lives have been altered/impacted forever. Sending love, light, and wisdom to those family and friends who are feeling the gravity of this loss set in more and more each day. May Sarah’s light shine through you…

  23. jongkwan baek says:
